Reliquary & Curios explores the places where folklore, folk witchcraft and the natural world meet.
A stone with a hole through its centre. A bird at the window. An unfamiliar mark above a doorway. Ordinary things can carry extraordinary stories, and those stories are where our collections begin.
There is something compelling about the things people have kept, carried and believed in.
Objects placed at thresholds. Plants gathered for protection. Signs read in the weather, the landscape and the turning year. They offer glimpses of how people made sense of uncertainty, found comfort and marked what mattered.
Reliquary & Curios draws on that rich territory to create illustrated prints, divination tools and paper curiosities for your home and personal practice. Some pieces invite you to learn. Others offer a moment of reflection, a seasonal ritual or simply something beautiful to live with.

I’m Rae, the designer behind Reliquary & Curios.
My background spans more than 25 years in commercial design and illustration. I’m also a practising witch, with a longstanding interest in folklore, symbolism and the ways people find meaning.
Those interests shape the work here: the questions behind a collection, the references I explore, the symbols I choose and the way each piece comes together.
I develop the collections using a combination of illustration, digital techniques and design tools. Research, composition, colour, typography and careful editing all play their part in creating the finished work.
Rooted in curiosity
Folklore is wonderfully untidy. Stories change as they travel; customs overlap; old beliefs acquire new interpretations.
That complexity is part of its appeal.
I approach these subjects with curiosity and care, making room for historical context, contemporary practice and personal interpretation. Where a design offers a modern reading of a symbol or tradition, that is part of its creative character.
My hope is that you’ll find something here that sparks a question, feels familiar or encourages you to look a little closer.
