Last updated: 22 October 2026

This notice explains how Reliquary & Curios uses personal information when you visit this website, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter or purchase from our Etsy shop.

Who is responsible for your information?

Reliquary & Curios is operated by Rae Rose a sole trader, who is responsible for the personal information described in this notice.

For privacy enquiries or requests, email hello@reliquarycurios.com.

Contacting us

When you contact us, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address and message.

We use this to answer your enquiry and provide support. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the business. Where your enquiry concerns a purchase or potential purchase, we may also use your information to fulfil a contract or take steps at your request before entering one.

General enquiries are normally deleted within 12 months of being resolved. We may retain relevant correspondence longer where necessary for an ongoing order, complaint, legal claim or recordkeeping obligation.

Our newsletter

If you subscribe, we use your email address and any name you provide to send occasional news, seasonal inspiration and information about our collections.

Our newsletter is managed through Squarespace Email Campaigns. We rely on your consent to send these emails.

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

We keep your subscription information while you remain subscribed and review inactive subscriptions annually. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal record of your preference so we do not accidentally send you marketing again.

Squarespace Email Campaigns records information about newsletter engagement, including email opens and link clicks. We use these statistics to understand which content interests our subscribers and improve future newsletters.

Buying something or sending an enquiry does not automatically subscribe you to our newsletter.

Website information and analytics

This website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, including information about your browser, device and network.

We also use Squarespace Analytics and Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the website. This may include pages visited, referral sources, interactions, device information and approximate location.

We use this information to improve the website and its content. We request consent for optional analytics cookies through our cookie banner.

Google Analytics user-level and event-level retention is set to two months, with retention resets on new activity switched off. This setting does not apply to all aggregated reports or to cookie expiry periods.

Necessary website operation and security processing is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a functioning, secure website.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small files stored on your device. This website uses essential cookies for its operation and optional cookies for analytics.

Our cookie banner allows you to accept optional cookies, decline them or manage your preferences. Essential cookies remain necessary for the website to function.

You can change your choices using the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of this website.

For information about cookies, their purposes and how long they last, see the cookies Squarespace uses and Google’s cookie information.

We do not currently use the Pinterest tracking tag on this website. Links to Pinterest and other external websites take you to services with their own privacy and cookie arrangements.

Purchases through Etsy

Our current purchases are completed through Etsy. Etsy handles its own checkout, payment and platform information under its privacy policy.

As the seller, we receive information Etsy makes available to us about your order. We use it to fulfil your purchase, answer questions, resolve problems and maintain required business records.

Our lawful bases are fulfilling our contract with you, meeting legal obligations and our legitimate interest in handling customer support and disputes.

We retain necessary order and accounting information for the applicable statutory recordkeeping period. Information relevant to an unresolved complaint or claim may be kept until that matter is concluded and any relevant legal retention period has passed.

This also applies to records of earlier purchases made directly through this website.

Service providers and overseas processing

We use Squarespace to host this website and send newsletters, Google Analytics to understand website use, and Google Workspace to manage email correspondence. Etsy separately processes information through its marketplace.

We may also share relevant information with professional advisers or public authorities where necessary or legally required.

Our providers may process personal information outside the UK, including in the United States. Their published data protection terms describe the safeguards used for these transfers. Depending on the provider and transfer, these include the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses with the applicable UK safeguards.

You can read more in Squarespace’s Data Processing Addendum and Google’s information about international data transfers.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can always object to the use of your information for direct marketing.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

To exercise your rights, email hello@reliquarycurios.com.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to address your concerns.
